2021 Spring Meeting
Ever since our first Wisconsin Night in 2019, we discovered that cadets love to rep their Wisconsin pride with cheeseheads! So join us at the Original Cheesehead Factory and make your own! We will tour the factory where all the glorious cheese foam products are made. Make plans to join us in Milwaukee on Saturday, June 26, 2021 from 12pm to 3pm. The event includes lunch, tour and making your own cheesehead! More details to come!
We will present the gifts to senior parents and induct the new WAFAPA board for the 2021-2022 school year. Please welcome Co-Presidents Jim and Jane Carrig, Co-VP's Fran and Steve Johnson, Treasurer Wendy Bautch, Membership Alicia and Brett Chenoweth. Thank you for helping to ensure WAFAPA's continued service to our Wisconsin families and USAFA cadets!
We still need your help with many of the other roles: Summer Picnic Auction Coordinator, Doolie Bag Coordinator, Falcon Raffle Coordinator, Parents Weekend Reception Chair, Parents Weekend Football Tickets, Dark Ages Packages, Birthday Cards, Wisconsin Night, and the 2021 All Academies Ball WAFAPA Liaison (West Point parents are hosting.)

New Appointee Orientation - May 15, 2021 in Milwaukee
WAFAPA will welcome the Wisconsin appointees for the Class of 2025 and preparatory school candidates to an orientation at the War Memorial Center in Milwaukee on May 15, 2021 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. The guest speaker will be Major General Paul Knapp, Wisconsin’s Adjutant General. He commands the Wisconsin National Guard and he is a 1992 graduate of the Air Force Academy!
We are excited to offer an in-person event after holding a virtual orientation last year. The traditional New Appointee Orientation is an invaluable resource for incoming basic cadets and their families to get questions answered and to meet other cadets and fellow appointees from Wisconsin. Year after year, we consistently get overwhelming positive feedback on this event. It is well worth your time! Email WAFAPA Co-President Maureen Guenther for more information.

Summer Picnic All current and former WAFAPA families are invited!
Please RSVP by email to Jim and Jane Carrig so they have an idea on numbers. We'll have a couple of coolers with beer, water, and soda. Bring something to throw on the grill and side dish to share. Bring a picture of your current cadet/graduate that can be tacked on the board - everyone enjoys seeing what our Wisconsin cadets and graduates are doing these days. This is our one and only fundraiser for the year so let's make it count! There are many options to donate if you are able to attend or not.
1. Auction. There will be a silent and voice auction. Please consider donating a basket and/or item for the auction. Craig and Mary Raddatz will be at the Pavillion to receive your auction items. If you are not able to attend, just let us know and we'll figure out a way to get your item on the auction board. By popular demand, Alan Roberts (former WAFAPA President and father of 2020 graduate Jim Roberts) will return as our auctioneer. As a preview . . .
2. Gift Cards. We will continue the tradition of providing WAFAPA duffel bags to our C4C's at the Parent's Weekend Dinner. Instead of filling the bags with gear, we are supplying gift cards to the C4C's so that they can select supplies (or food!) that they need the most. In addition, per tradition, we will also be giving gift cards to the 14 WAFAPA member C1C's at Parent's Weekend. We'd like to provide our 25 Wisconsin Doolies with $100 each in gift cards. Gift cards in $25, $50, or $100 denominations would be perfect - Amazon, Visa, Subway, Dominos, or AAFES (can be used at many of the locations on base). Please bring your gift cards to the picnic or contact WAFAPA treasurer Wendy Bautch if you're unable to attend and would still like to donate.

- The Richie Family (C1C John) have graciously donated a weekend stay at their beautiful lakefront cabin in Cumberland, WI
- Front row "behind the plate" tickets for the NL East-leading Brewers (vs. St. Louis 9/23). Amazing opportunity to have nothing in the way between you and the action on the field!
